The 2020 Round Up- Happy New Year!

Well, what a year it has been! Where do we start really? The world has a whole has changed, there is no denying that. The rise in cases of Coronavirus has seen the UK put in to  national lockdowns, local lockdowns, tiered systems, and more. We have been advised to work from home, but also to get back to the workplace. We have had the pubs and hospitality industry shut down, but also a load of cheap food courtesy of Mr Sunak. In all fairness, the only constant has been change and inconsistency itself! Without doubt the most challenging year for a long time, and we’d be interested to hear of a worse one!

But while the country and the world has suffered such a drastic downturn in fortune, at Angling Escapades, while difficult, its been another year of building and growing what we do. Firstly, it is only right and proper that we thank all of our wonderful customers. We have met some brilliant people along the way. We have had anglers with us for a variety of days out; barbel on the float, nets of silvers, hoards of chub, salmon fishing and more. So once again thank you for your continued support.

Dave prides himself on providing the angler with the special day they want. It doesn’t always go to plan, but that’s fishing, hey? But 99% of the time anglers leave us with a raft of extra knowledge, covered in fish slime and with a huge grin on their face. We have seen fathers and sons, husbands and wives, groups of friends and more grace the banks of the River Wye with us and we have even had the pleasure of Mr Botherways company once or twice.

On that note, Angling Escapades has featured on Nigel’s show, The Fisherman’s Blues, on a number of occasions. Dave has made an appearance himself, and we have even had customers call into the show to talk about how good their day with Dave was. You can listen to that conversation here.

Other media projects this year have included more Angling Escapades vlogs on our YouTube channel and also another online, YouTube venture with Tom Scholey of Catch More Media. The Review sees Dave and Tom put a number of tackle items through their paces for an honest and insightful review. So go and check that out too.

Angling Escapades has also had some major news in expanding our customer experience. What does that mean, we hear you say? Well, simply put, you can now book accommodation and angling experience packages through us too. Check out the packages page here to find out more. You won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer. Especially if uncharted sections of the river tickles your fancy. Who doesn’t love adventure, right?

With 2021 upon us, we can’t wait for the new “normal”. But whatever happens our doors and the banks of the Wye are always open. So why not look into that day out or weekend away you have always wanted? Get in touch to find out more.

Have a great New Year and we’ll see you soon.
