Dave Roberts:

I qualified as an Angling Coach with the Professional Anglers Association in 2001 and set up a successful Angling Academy which, over a 10 year period, saw over 500 youngsters experience Coarse Angling. Many have gone on to be top anglers in various different styles. I compete against a few of them regularly and some have even gone on to fish for England!

Whilst life and business made it hard to continue with the youth project, I've never lost the urge to pass on skills and knowledge to others. So now, with the River Wye firmly placed at the top of the list for river fisheries, I have set up Angling Escapades. This is  a guiding/coaching service that allows people to come and have a go on the Wye without fear of not knowing where to start, not having the right equipment or not being there at the right time. I also share with many match anglers the skills and techniques that have brought me success over the years. It's simple: you tell us your goals and ambitions and, after consultation, we put in a plan to give you every chance of achieving them. Whether it be summer chub and barbel, winter roach, pike and grayling or spring salmon, there's nothing we cant achieve!

One Day Course or Salmon Guiding- £250

Superior Salmon Package (Lunch incl.)- £300

When coming for a day course fishing Dave will ensure the best swims and areas are selected to suit your needs and the river conditions on the day.

As for salmon fishing; we have managed to secure one of the River Wye’s most exclusive salmon beats where fish of over 30lb have been known to be caught. The beat is run by a legendary ghillie to ensure that your day runs as smoothly as possible.

At Angling Escapades we work on the basis of an 8 hour day however, this can be tailored to suit the client’s need.
